Hitachi Kokusai Emphasizes 4K UHD Production for Varied Environments at NAB New York
Southwick, MA, October 4, 2024 — Hitachi Kokusai returns to NAB New York this week with a streamlined adaptation of its NABShow booth that shines a light on its latest innovations for professional content acquisition. The demonstration puts the focus on two 4K UHD camera systems built to serve different live production needs, whether used separately for specific applications or blended to support grander visions. Hitachi Kokusai exhibits at Booth 837.
Hitachi Kokusai’s SK-UHD7000 live production camera system captures the mood and excitement of a dynamic broadcast or live event production for 4K UHD presentation to audiences in varied environments. The SK-UHD7000\ incorporates three 2/3-inch CMOS image sensors with native 4K resolution to enable the pristine capture of 3840×2160 UHD video. The sensors’ global shutter technology minimizes unwanted artifacts such as flickering and banding that could otherwise occur when capturing video in event venues, TV production sets, and worship environments with LED lighting and large LED displays.
Hitachi Kokusai built the SK-UHD7000 to ensure extraordinary sensitivity and consistent results for 4K productions across diverse scenarios. For example, its Sensitivity of F11 at 59.94 frames enables high-quality acquisition in low lighting conditions, while a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 62 dB provides ultra-quiet images. These qualities and all other performance benefits carry over to the SK-UHD7000-S2, a nearly identical model built for customers that want high-quality 1080p productions today and cost-effective path to 4K/UHD in the future. The latter is achieved through a license upgrade option that provides immediate entry to the 4K/UHD production world.
Introduced at NABShow in April, Hitachi Kokusai’s DK-H700 4K box camera sits at the opposite end of the design scale, providing customers with a compact POV solution that can reliably support very focused applications in professional AV and government applications. It is also a very adaptable solution for high-end broadcast and venue environments, and blends effortlessly with the SK-UHD7000 to produce different viewpoints with identical quality, aided through the presence of the same UHD sensor with the DK-H700, SK-UHD7000, and SK-UHD7000-S2.
The DK-H700 offers users an immediate first impression through its smooth operability, artistic capabilities and striking visual quality. The latter two benefits are amplified through the camera’s advanced digital signal processing and HDR support. The DK-H700’s design also includes 2/3-inch sensors with RGB 3-chip technology, faithfully producing images at 8.3 million pixels. Collectively, these features add up to produce sharp and clear images with minimal noise, lifelike color fidelity, and extraordinary sensitivity.
The DK-H700 is a multi-format solution that complies with ITU-R.BT-2020 wide color gamut specs and operates within REC BT2100 High Dynamic Range standards. These qualities allow content creators to produce independent programs in a dual workflow configuration for both HDTV and/or UHD SDI output formats.
